Guests are accommodated in style and comfort in luxury tented suites. There are 2 spacious Explorer Tents overlooking expansive bush and river views from elevated wooden decks. Each one has a private balcony from which to admire the sunset, and an adjacent outdoor shower.
Each tent joins the main lodge via a lantern-lit sandy pathway, guiding the way in the darkness, and offering guests the privacy of individually located rooms. There is an unobtrusive 2-strand elephant fence around camp, which inhibits elephants from entering the camp, but does not protect the camp from other wandering wildlife.
Ivory Wilderness Riversong Camp exudes an essence of old-Africa and reminds us of a time of early safari travel on the continent. It is luxurious, yet simple, and entirely escapist. Guests will feel transported to a time long ago and far away, refreshing the mind, body and soul.
Each of Ivory Wilderness’ 2 luxury tents are individually decorated with furniture, rugs, and other items that exude old-world elegance. From rustic bookcases, to copper lamps, leather luggage racks, and old fashioned trunks; the décor is sophisticated, yet charming.
Tents sleep 2 people in either queen-size or twin beds, which are lavishly made up with layers of Egyptian cotton linen, wool duvet inners, and subtle decorative throws and cushions. Each bed faces the large entrance of the tent, which offers views of either the bush or the Klaserie River. There are drop-down canvas covers for the window openings, keeping cool air out in winter, or letting it flow through in summer.
En suite bathrooms are open-plan, spearated from the bedroom area by a unique and aesthetically pleasing room divider. An indoor shower, double vanity, and toilet make up the bathroom, while each tent also has an adjacent, open-air, outdoor shower. Wooden balconies are spacious and perfect for a spot of birdwatching.
